Answer to Question 1

D
The fetal heart tones can be mistaken for placental blood flow, which would be the same as the maternal pulse. If the fetus is in fetal distress, placing the client in a supine position may very well worsen the symptoms. Although rechecking the rate with a fetoscope could be done, it is best to rule out the common cause for the FHR to decline.

Answer to Question 2

1
Rationale:
1. Increased physical activity requires adequate caloric intake to prevent hypoglycemia, so food intake should be increased.
2. Increased activity would not require decreased food intake.
3. Exercise causes the insulin to be used more efficiently, so increased insulin would not be needed.
4. Increased activity would not result in a decreased risk of insulin reaction.
