During strong contractions, the fundus resists indentation by the slightly spread fingertips of the nurse. During mild contractions, the fundus can be indented. During moderate contractions, the fundus can be indented, but not as easily as with mild contractions. Also, slight is not a term used to describe uterine contractions.
