Answer to Question 1

2
Rationale:
1. Personal handguns are not permissible or legal for nurses to carry on home visits.
2. Cell phones provide a means of contact, and are advisable for the nurse to carry.
3. Mace is not permissible or legal for nurses to carry on home visits.
4. A map of the area should be checked before leaving for a visit, and the route traced.

Answer to Question 2

C
During pregnancy the uterus displaces the bladder anteriorly, thus making it an abdominal organ, which causes a decrease in venous return, thus making it edematous. Edema and pressure placed on the bladder during labor can make voiding during labor difficult and can cause over distension of the bladder. If not regularly emptied, it can impede the descent of the fetus. When the woman is unable to void urinary catheterization is necessary.
