Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback
A Guidelines for standards of care are published by various professional nursing
organizations. The standard of care for neonatal nurses is set by the Association
of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). The Society
of Pediatric Nurses is the primary specialty organization that sets standards for
the pediatric nurse.
B Risk management identifies risks and establishes preventive practices, but it does
not define the standard of care.
C Sentinel events are unexpected negative occurrences. They do not establish the
standard of care.
D Failure to rescue is an evaluative process for nursing, but it does not define the
standard of care.

Answer to Question 2

B
Eating dry carbohydrates before arising will help prevent the nausea and vomiting triggered by getting out of bed in the morning, which is how the term morning sickness came about. Drinking soups and liquids in between meals and drinking ginger ale, as well as eating small frequent meals, help relieve nausea and vomiting of pregnancy but not morning sickness. Eating high-protein foods will not help relieve morning sickness.
