Answer to Question 1

A
Response:
Language development occurs rapidly in a toddler. By age 3 years, the child asks why? Pointing to named body parts is characteristic of a 2-year-old. Understanding concepts such as on, under, or in is typical of a 3-year-old. A 1-year-old would communicate with words and gestures.

Answer to Question 2

B
Response:
A deficiency of amniotic fluid, oligohydramnios, is associated with uteroplacental insufficiency and fetal renal abnormalities. Excess amniotic fluid is associated with maternal diabetes, neural tube defects, and malformations of the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system.
