Response:
An Apgar score below 7 at 1 or 5 minutes indicates the need for resuscitation. IV fluid therapy and blood cultures may be done once resuscitation is started. Kangaroo care would be appropriate once the newborn is stable.

Palpation should be the last part of the abdominal examination. Inspection, auscultation, and percussion should be done before palpation.
