Answer to Question 1

B
Response:
Mild persistent asthma is associated with symptoms occurring more than twice a week but less than once a day, nighttime symptoms occurring three or four times per month, an FEV 80 or more of predicted values, and minor limitations in normal activity. Intermittent asthma is characterized by symptoms occurring once or twice a week, nighttime symptoms occurring once or twice per month, FEV 80 or more of predicted values, and no limitations in normal activity. Moderate persistent asthma is characterized by symptoms occurring daily, nighttime symptoms occurring more than once a week but not nightly, FEV 60 to 80 of predicted values, and some limitations in normal activity. Severe persistent asthma is characterized by symptoms occurring throughout the day, nighttime symptoms occurring as often as 7 times per week, FEV less than 60 of predicted values, and extremely limited activity level.

Answer to Question 2

D
Response:
When weighing perineal pads to determine blood loss, 1 gram of pad weight is equivalent to 1 mL of blood loss. A pad that weighs 20 g would indicate a 20-mL blood loss.
