Answer to Question 1

C
Because the infant is wet with amniotic fluid and blood, heat loss by evaporation occurs quickly.
Conduction occurs when the infant comes into contact with a cold surface. The crib should be preheated to prevent this from occurring.
Convection occurs when heat is transferred to the air surrounding the infant.
Radiation occurs with the transfer of heat to a cooler object that is not in direct contact with the infant.

Answer to Question 2

A
Although all of these are considerations, parents are usually most concerned about the safety of the fetus.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
