Answer to Question 1

ANS: C, E, F
A high score on the Bishop scale is predictive of successful labor induction because the fetus is moving down in the birth canal and the cervix has softened, or is considered ripe.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A, B, C, F
An episiotomy may shorten the second stage of labor, relieve fetal head compression, facilitate breech and forceps delivery, permit easier passage of fetus, and prevent perineal or vaginal lacerations. An episiotomy will not affect the mother's blood pressure or the pain of the delivery.
