Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
An echocardiogram is a noninvasive test that can show the size and location of a heart defect. An electrocardiogram (ECG) provides visualization of the heart's electrical activity. Direct pressure measurements are obtained with cardiac catheterization. More specific information can be obtained about heart defects via a magnetic resonance angiogram or computed tomographic angiogram.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Clubbing of the fingernails is associated with chronically low oxygenation. A PaO2 of 72 mm Hg is low. The other values are normal.
