Consider the model as it exists today. Customers use the Internet to locate a suitable ticket. They might use a web service to identify the best deals and an intermediary to make the booking. They might go directly to an airline site. They are then issued with an e-ticket. The e-ticket carries the same information as the paper version-it is just that the information is held in the airline's database.
