If you think about it, the seven Rs definition of logistics applies to information as much as products with some slight alterationsgetting the right information to the right partners, in the right quantity, in the right format, at the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. Change any right to wrong and the capabilities of the decision maker will decline. Thus, information quality is paramount to effective management of the supply chain.
To ensure that valuable, actionable knowledge readily flows across the supply chain, information must be accessible, relevant, accurate, timely, and transferable.
