Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Basically, targeting is selection. When we're ready to target, it means we have analyzed the marketplace, our competitors, and our internal strengths, and we can see that they align better with some segments than others. So we will try to serve the segments whose needs match our abilities to deliver, and in doing so, we hope to make very happy, very loyal customers, who will be very profitable to us.
The reasons we target are the same reasons that we segmentit's not wise to try to be all things to all people. Most markets are not made up of customers with identical tastes, thereby facilitating the identification of segments. The targeting question is, which of those segments do we want to be our customers?
