Why do you think the nine key marketing functions are illustrated as a circle or wheel diagram?

You are considering two different marketing occupations. One is fashion merchandising, and the other is inventory management. According to a local job resource center, the number of jobs for fashion merchandisers in your area was 7,500 in 2006 and is projected to be 8,400 by 2008 . The number of inventory manager positions in your area was 9,750 in 2002 and is projected to be 10,500 by 2012 . Calculate the percentage increase in both jobs. What is the percentage increase of the faster-growing job?

Answer to Question 1

The marketing functions are illustrated as a circle or wheel because marketing is a never-ending process, just as a circle is a continuous line. Without any one of the nine functions, marketing could not take place; the circle would be incomplete.
