Answer to Question 1

An ANOVA or MANOVA model represent a form of the general linear model (GLM). ANOVA can be extended beyond one-way ANOVA to predict a dependent variable with multiple categorical independent variables. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) is a multivariate technique that predicts multiple continuous dependent variables with multiple independent variables. The independent variables are categorical, although a continuous control variable can be included in the form of a covariate.
