1 . Formulate a null and an alternative hypothesis
2 . Select the appropriate statistical test given the type of data being analyzed.
3 . Specify the significance level.
4 . Look up the test statistic for the given significance level.
5 . Perform the statistical test chosen in Step 2.
6 . Compare the value of the statistic calculated in Step 5 with the value obtained in Step 4 . If the computed test statistic is greater than the tabulated value, then the null hypothesis should be rejected.
