In low-context cultures, what is said is precisely what is meant. The U.S. and German cultures are low-context. In high-context cultures, the context of the message is crucial to understanding the message. The message source is a factor as is the tone of voice and body language. Middle Eastern countries and North Africa are examples of high-context cultures.
