Satellite dishes are prohibited in some markets such as China, Singapore and Saudi Arabia in an attempt to control the access of their population to Western influence. Products such as luxury automobiles, athletic shoes, and rice may be protected in some markets, but a national defense argument is unlikely. Instead, infant industry, excess capacity or maintenance of employment arguments are likely to be used. This may be found in the National Defense Interests section (3-1f).
