Answer to Question 1

True

Answer to Question 2

Competition promotes and hinders expansion. In the Drivers in the Business Environment section, competitive pressure drives internationalizatio n. For example, McCann Erickson follows Coca Cola into every country in an attempt to prevent competitors from stealing away the account. In the Obstacles to Internationalizatio n the competition is shown to erect barriers to new entrants in a market. This can be done through blocking channels of distribution, binding retailers into exclusive agreements, slashing prices, etc.
