London's Heathrow airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. The U.K.
 
  government is contemplating building a third runway to ease congestion at the airport and is using cost-benefit analysis to determine whether the runway should be built. A report in the U.K. newspaper The Guardian questions the morality of assigning a dollar value to human life in order to compare costs and benefits. In the reporter's opinion, such calculations are ethically wrong, as human life is intrinsically priceless. Would you agree with this interpretation of the value of a statistical life? Explain your answer.
