The variance associated with the main effect of Factor A is compared with the variance of A x Subject.

Answer to Question 2

D
There are three sources of variance associated with treatments (one for each main effect and one for the interaction. Each of these three sources of treatment variance is compared to its own error term, making a total of six sources of variance in all.
