Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

The existence of a main effect does not depend on whether or not there is a second main effect or an interaction. Similarly, the existence of an interaction does not depend on whether or not there is a main effect for either (or both) of the factors. As a result, a factorial design can produce any combination of main effects and interactions.
