A strange skin disease referred to as Morgellons has occurred in the southern United States and in California. Another symptom is strange-looking, threadlike extrusions coming out of the skin.
Patients should never assume they are being given the appropriate drugs. They should make sure they know which drugs are being prescribed, and always double-check that the drugs received match the prescription.
Women are two-thirds more likely than men to develop irritable bowel syndrome. This may be attributable to hormonal changes related to their menstrual cycles.
Nearly all drugs pass into human breast milk. How often a drug is taken influences the amount of drug that will pass into the milk. Medications taken 30 to 60 minutes before breastfeeding are likely to be at peak blood levels when the baby is nursing.
Women are 50% to 75% more likely than men to experience an adverse drug reaction.
