Answer to Question 1

d

Answer to Question 2

One example of a range effect is called a ceiling effect and exists when a set of scores all cluster near the top of the scale of measurement. In this case, the scores do not allow room for any noticeable improvement. If a treatment is administered that does improve scores, the improvement will not show up in the results and the researcher will be forced to conclude that the treatment does not appear to produce a significant improvement in scores.
