Explain the difference between using narrative records versus checklists for data collection. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each method?

Narrative records are a more subjective means of collecting data and involve full narrative descriptions of a participant's behavior. Checklists are a more objective means of collecting data and involve creating and using a tally sheet on which the researcher records attributes of the participants and whether particular behaviors were observed.
