The origins of the Industrial Revolution are in Western Europe and the United States. These places industrialized first and used their power and wealth to colonize many parts of the world and extract natural resources from them. Many of these places are only just now making the transition from an agrarian economy to one that includes managers and entrepreneurs who have a global perspective.
