Answer to Question 1

Primary groups exist for the sake of the relationships themselves, while secondary groups are formed to achieve a particular goal. Primary groups are composed of close personal, intimate, relationships. Secondary groups may involve some close relationships, but for the most part they do not engage the entire personality of the members.
