Answer to Question 1

d

Answer to Question 2

Cultural lag is when there is a gap between the technical development of a society (material culture) and its moral and legal institutions (nonmaterial culture). Examples of cultural lag serve to illustrate the point that not all facets of a culture change at the same rate and there are real consequences when social institutions fail to keep up with technological development. For example, technological innovation has made it possible to identify each person's genetic code and screen for likelihood of possible future health problems. While health insurance companies might like such information so they can anticipate problems (and potentially deny coverage or increase rates), people in the United States have thus far not been willing to divulge that information to private, for profit companies.
