Answer to Question 1

True

Answer to Question 2

A social institution is a set of organized beliefs and rules that establishes how a society

will attempt to meet its basic social needs. In the past, these needs have centered

around five basic social institutions: the family, religion, education, the economy, and

the government (or politics). Today, mass media, sports, science and medicine, and the

military are also considered to be social institutions.
