1. Outline the basic tenets of a progressive social policy as opposed to a conservative social policy.
2. Explain the basic components advocated for in the book (increased government programs, focus on children, etc.).
3. Assess why we would expect these policies to alleviate social problems.

1. Explain the benefits to policymakers of thinking sociologically.
2. Articulate the current bias against sociological data.
3. Interpret how you think the world would be different if this bias were overcome.
