Answer to Question 1

In traditional societies, relationships are based on history (the way it's always been); they are diffuse (vague, covering many areas of life); and they are long-term (often lifelong). In nontraditional societies, relationships are based on contracts (which change as the situation changes); they are specific (contracts specify conditions); and they are short-term (for the length of the contract).

Answer to Question 2

Any five: achievement and success; individualism; hard work; efficiency and practicality; science and technology; material comfort; freedom; democracy; equality; group superiority; education; religiosity; romantic love.
