Giddens argues that our present institutions, traditions, and nations
 
  a. are shells that are no longer adequate as they are because the world has changed through globalization.
   b. remain as they always were in order to prevent globalization from altering them in negative ways.
   c. are more effective in a world of globalization than they were in pre-globalization years.
