Answer to Question 1

b

Answer to Question 2

Plessy vs. Ferguson  separate but equal accommodations for Blacks and Whites were not discriminatory, but necessary because of different needs of the races. Examples: separate neighborhoods, businesses, sections on busses and in restaurants, separate schools and colleges, separate washrooms and drinking fountains. Problem: separate but equal usually meant inferior, with blacks sitting on the back of the bus or black schools having fewer resources than white schools. Brown vs. the Board of Education  reversed Plessy  Separate but equal wasn't equal, and was replaced by legal integration, such as integrated schools and restaurants. Nonetheless, most people still life in same-race neighborhoods.
