Involving workers in the decision-making process

Having social get-togethers to help improve group morale

Giving workers more of the profits through a profit-sharing program

Having a reward system to recognize significant contributions made by workers

Instituting employee policies that generate a sense of job security

Allowing workers some control over their schedules-for example, through flextime

Making the work setting as free of hazards as possible

Having promotion-from-within policies, training programs, personnel policies that ensure equal opportunity for advancement and education, and good physical facilities and conveniences (lounges, cafeterias, gyms, and the like)
