Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: Probation is a sentence that does not require incarceration. The sentence may include a fine, supervision,
community service, restitution, or home confinement. Parole is the conditional release of a prisoner
from incarceration to supervision after part of his or her sentence has been completed.
