Answer to Question 1

28 gtt/min

Global Rationale: gtt/min = 10 gtt/1 mL x 2000 mL/12 hours x 1 hour/60 min. Multiply the numerators and then divide by the denominators. The client will receive 27.7 or 28 gtt/min.

Answer to Question 2

300 mL

Global Rationale: mL = 120 mL/1 hour x 2.5 hours = 300 mL. The client will receive 300 mL of IV fluid in 2.5 hours.
