Global Rationale: Feet=1 foot/12 inches x 54 inches/1 . Multiply the numerators (1 x 54 = 54). Multiply the denominators (12 x 1 =12). 54/12= 4.5 feet.
Inches= 12 inches/1 foot x 0.5 feet/1 . Multiply the numerators (12 x 0.5 = 6). Multiply the denominators (1 x 1 = 1). 6/1= 6 inches. 4 feet, 6 inches.
