The end of the Taiping in 1864 came about when
 
  a. Hong was taken prisoner by the French at Nanjing.
  b. the imperial army defeated them at Nanjing.
  c. the French and British came to the aid of the Qing dynasty.
  d. the imperial emperor negotiated a treaty with Hong.
