Answer to Question 1

Elaborative rehearsal is the practice of consciously relating previously stored information to aid in the learning of new information. Any example is appropriate that illustrates relating new information to what you already know in order to learn it.

Answer to Question 2

Maintenance rehearsal is the practice of repeating information just long enough to hold it for immediate use by working memory. Rehearsing a phone number for immediate purposes is an example. It has no effect on long-term memory storage.
