In a two-way bilingual (TWB) education program, all students are taught both in English and another language, such as Spanish. In one-way programs, the primary language of all the students is something other than English. In TWB programs, English is the primary language for about half the students and a different language is the primary language of the other half.

a.Before the school year begins, write out your rules, procedures, and activities. This tells the students that you are organized and in charge.
b. At the beginning of the school year, clearly describe your rules and procedures and demonstrate as many of them as possible so students know exactly how they are to behave.
c. For the first week or so, give relatively short and uncomplicated lessons and assignments.
d. Give students clear and complete instructions about how to carry out in-class and homework assignments.
e. Give students timely, specific, and frequent feedback about how well they are carrying out assignments.
