Adversarial bias refers to a testifying expert who works, consciously or unconsciously, as the client's advocate, offering a biased opinion.
Adversarial bias has at least three sources:
 Conscious bias: an expert's opinion is intentionally biased.
 Unconscious bias: extremely prevalent among law enforcement and government witnesses.
 Selection bias: implying that the expert was specifically hired to represent the engaging attorney's theory.
