Answer to Question 1

Although males and females have equal access to computers, and see themselves as equally capable of using them, girls tend to report higher levels of computer anxiety than boys. This discrepancy is possibly due to the relative scarcity of women in technological fields.

Answer to Question 2

Social cognitive theory holds that teachers can encourage students to learn by urging them to imitate successful students with whom they identify. In addition to acquiring new knowledge and skills, students also experience an increase in self-efficacy.
