   B. Verification
   C. Prediction
   D. Reversal

Question 2

Assume an A-B-C design has been effective and ends with both the B and C interventions being implemented. Explain how the sequencing or cumulative effect diminishes the researcher's ability to assume there is a functional relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable.

Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

One issue is that there has been no replication of the effect of the two interventions as one would find in a withdrawal design.
A second issue is that the sequencing or cumulative effect of B and C interventions makes it difficult to pinpoint which intervention, or if only both interventions, or the sequence of the interventions implementation actually impacts the dependent variable favorably.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
