Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

One appropriate reason might be when the target behavior is such that having an extended baseline would be unethical. For example, many experts, if not most, would argue that a student who is self-abusive should not be allowed to continue merely for the sake of obtaining baseline data. However, a very brief baseline period might be acceptable (B-A-B) to establish the functional relationship. In this instance, it would only be necessary to show a very brief change in trend or level of responding in the target behavior before returning to intervention (final B phase).

About 80% of major fungal systemic infections are due to Candida albicans. Another form, Candida peritonitis, occurs most often in postoperative patients. A rare disease, Candida meningitis, may follow leukemia, kidney transplant, other immunosuppressed factors, or when suffering from Candida septicemia.

A good example of polar molecules can be understood when trying to make a cake. If water and oil are required, they will not mix together. If you put them into a measuring cup, the oil will rise to the top while the water remains on the bottom.

Did you know?

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
