Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

Unlike most other countries, U.S. unions focus on bread and butter issues such as wages, benefits, and job security. In most other countries, unions are ideological and pursue political goals. U.S. unions tend to be organized by the type of job. Unions in many other countries tend to be organized according to political persuasion. In the United States, the government takes a neutral or nonintervention role. In most other countries, the government is closely involved in labor-management relations. In the United States, one party can use the legal system to enforce the terms of the contract if the other party does not fulfill its responsibilities. In many other countries, working conditions and employee benefits are codified into labor laws that are enforced by the central government. Finally, management and labor are viewed as natural adversaries in the United States. The labor relations system stresses cooperation rather than competition between management and labor in many other countries.
