Answer to Question 1

If deficiency needs are not satisfied, students are likely to make bad choices. This means that individuals will be more motivated to satisfy deficiency needs rather than growth needs.

Answer to Question 2

The growth need is self-actualization. According to Maslow, a person feels the motivation to satisfy this need only after deficiency needs are met, and also if the person has a certain system of values, such as believing in goodness, beauty, justice, and truth.
