On the basis of his laboratory research, Skinner believed that teachers should do the following:
a.clearly communicate the objective of the lesson (be clear about what is to be taught)
b. arrange instruction so that it progresses from simple to advanced ideas (teach first things first)
c. provide students with however much time they need to learn the material (allow students to learn at their own rate)
d. design instruction that requires only small, obvious steps to progress from one point to another and that contains prompts to help students come up with the correct answer (program the subject matter)
