Power and politics can be useful for the organization by helping to improve the quality of organizational decision making. The various perspectives that are provided by individuals in opposition can provide opportunities for organizational change and improvement. In addition, power can be used by managers to control people and resources to further the organization's goals. It can also be useful in the political process to help promote new organizational goals.
