Answer to Question 1

Galaxy Market must make a strategic decision. Will it respond to the challenge head-on in an attempt to succeed, and not merely survive? Will it continue business-as-usual until it is forced out of business? Or will it cut its losses and close down now? If it chooses the first strategic option, it will need to be innovative.
Innovation involves the successful implementation of creative ideas within an organization. Galaxy Market must encourage innovation, provide the necessary resources, and develop special ways of managing people to encourage innovation. Their innovation process will evolve through the following five stages:
1 Setting the agenda -Create a mission for success in the changing environment
2 Setting the stage -Gather resources and assess the environment
3 Producing the ideas -Encourage creativity
4 Testing and implementing the ideas -Nourish and support good ideas
5 Assessing the outcome -Recognize success and continue innovation
