Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

Organizational culture is defined as the cognitive framework consisting of assumptions and values shared by organizational members. Just as each person has a unique personality, so every organization has a unique culture or personality. The competing values framework classifies cultures with respect to two sets of competing values: (1 ) the extent to which the organization values flexibility and discretion as opposed to stability, order, and control, and (2 ) the relative amount of attention paid to internal affairs as opposed to activities in the external environment. Using this framework, cultures can be categorized as clan, hierarchy, adhocracy, or market.
An organizations culture provides a sense of identity for the members, generates commitment to the organizations mission, and clarifies and reinforces standards of behavior. An organization transmits its culture to new members through symbols, stories, jargon, ceremonies, and statements of principle.
